Tim

Founder & Director

Tim has shared his life with dogs for as long as he can remember and simply can’t imagine life without them. Today, he and his wife, April, proudly share their home with six beloved dogs, each an important part of their family and their journey.

Before moving to Canada, Tim built a meaningful career in the UK, working closely with young adults with diverse abilities. His roles ranged from college lecturer, specializing in independent living skills, to in-home support worker, where he helped individuals build confidence, self-reliance, and find their place within their communities. His passion for empowerment, inclusion, and advocacy has remained central to everything he does.

After relocating to Canada more than a decade ago, Tim’s life changed forever when he and April welcomed Nymera, a Bluetick Coonhound, into their lives. Their personal experiences navigating the world of dog care inspired them to create their own dog daycare and boarding facility—Woofability Enrichment Academy. What began as a local dog care service quickly evolved into Woofability Service Dog Training, where Tim and April realized their shared passion for providing life-changing service dogs to those in need.

Together with April and co-founder Kirstin, Tim helped establish Pawsabilities Service Dog Society to tackle a critical challenge: making certified service dogs more accessible and affordable to individuals who would otherwise be unable to obtain them. His vision is to help break down financial barriers and provide opportunities for people to experience the transformational bond between handler and service dog.

Tim is incredibly proud of Pawsabilities and the difference it continues to make in the community. He is passionate about connecting with people, advocating for the life-changing impact of service dogs, and growing awareness around the importance of accessible service dog programs.

When he’s not working with dogs or building community partnerships, you can find Tim axe throwing with his local league, playing board games at his favourite café, watching horror films, and celebrating his lifelong fandom of Batman.

We exist because service dogs change lives—and everyone deserves that chance.
